Untitled Document RECENT NEWS

Ruth works with numerous students, and some take private instruction. Certain ones have an interest in photo contests and Ruth assists them with selecting and processing their images for competition.

Recently, three students have won very prestigious awards. The most recent is Jill Spaulding from Las Vegas, Nevada, who took TWO winning placements in the Nature's Best Magazine's photo contest. These two images are below.

Debbie Thomas and Hector Astorga from South Texas each were awarded first place in two of the seven amateur divisions of the National Wildlife Federation's photo contest! The prestigious contest drew more than 70,000 entries.

Debbie won first place in the "LANDSCAPES AND PLANT LIFE" division and Hector won first place in the "CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH NATURE" division. What an experience that is, for teacher and students alike. Both Hector and Debbie called Ruth at the same time to share their good news, so she linked the calls for a hearty round of three-way congratulations. Below are their winning images.
