DETAILS ABOUT THE SERVICES
Photo Workshops
I have conducted photo workshops across the United States for the National Parks system, Kodak, North American Nature Photography Association and other organizations and now specialize in South Texas and Mexico. Workshop locations include public land as well as private ranches and properties.
Photo Tours
My photo tours take us to unique locations across the United States but I specialize in South Texas, Mexico and South Africa. Locations include public land and private properties, including the 45-acre privately-owned property where I live. Here, photo blinds are placed with photographers' specialized needs in mind.
Like my photo workshops, the photo tours I lead and co-lead are limited to small groups and I take into consideration each participant's interests. Depending on the tour, travel expenses & accommodations may be included in the cost.
Photo Classes
I conduct beginners, intermediate and advanced level photo classes to both film and digital camera users. Classes are conducted in various towns across the Rio Grande Valley year-'round.
Classes are limited in size and take place one evening per week for four weeks. A Saturday field trip is included. Occasionally I condense my regular classes into two one-day sessions, for the convenience of out-of-towners who would like to attend.
Detailed handouts are included with my informal and interactive classroom sessions, and I encourage participants to share and show some of their past work.
In addition to lighting, exposure and other various technical aspects of photography I cover special areas of interest such as close-ups, wild animals, botanical subjects and creative techniques.
My classes' field trips are held in a natural setting chosen by the participants and me. A setting like this provides opportunities for participants to practice techniques discussed in class. During the field trip, each participant can expect to receive some one-on-one assistance from me or one of my assistants. Following the field trip is a thorough review and gentle critique of the work.
Private Instruction
I provide private instruction for beginner, intermediate and advanced photographers using film and/or digital cameras.
Prior to instruction, I engage in lengthy discussion with the photographer to identify his or her goals and create a unique course based on individual needs. I then work with the photographer to archieve those goals.
In addition to the technical aspects of photography, I cover special areas of interest. These include close-ups, wild animals, botanical subjects, land and seascapes and creative techniques, as well as digital photography workflow from capture to finished product.
Assignment Work
I work for various companies and organizations on assignment, performing tasks unique to the clients' needs. Contact me directly for information and pricing.
Print and Image Sales
I have created thousands of images since 1989, which are available as hand-signed, archival-quality prints. If you don't see something you want, contact me for a photograph that matches your needs. You may order online and I accept payment via PayPal, cash, personal checks or money orders. Prints paid for by personal check cannot be shipped until the check has cleared.
